Industry Night: The Dawson

Hello All!

This week is beautifully busy for BH, all beginning with another Industry Night in just TWO (2) days!  As a sneak-peek for our NOVEMBER collaboration event, we are featuring The Dawson and Cream Wine Company as culinary collaborators!

Since its founding, The Dawson has worked to combine the skill of craft with the finesse of art. The Dawson seeks to recreate the pioneering, artistic, and straightforward attitude of William and Henry Dawson by providing a restaurant, bar, and gathering place that celebrates the craft of food, drink and hospitality.  Executive Chef Shaun King will be presenting a charcuterie spread to highlight his appreciation of diverse culinary influences.

Growing our circle of local businesses, Cream Wine Company is Chicago-based, independent, family owned and operated Illinois importer & distributor of fine wine, craft spirits, ginjo sake, and cider. Operated by another dynamic duo, Mark Payne and Andy Pates, Cream will be pairing some deliciously fall-appropriate cider with The Dawson's tasting menu. A special shoutout and thank you to our personal Cream representative, Erin Drain!

Industry Night: Green Grocer Chicago 2.0!

Hi All,

Our first Industry Night was such a hit! Big Jones was a fantastic culinary collaborator, bringing so many southern favorites. Chatham punch, Crawfish and Andouille gumbo with potato salad, and Sugar Cream Pie are only some of their contributions for the evening. Please check out our blog to read more and see pictures!

Moving along with the Chicago seasons, we welcome Fall on TUESDAY, September 29 through a returning collaboration with our beloved Green Grocer Chicago!

As the collaborators for our very first Industry Night, GGC will always holding a special place in our hearts.  For the fall, they will bring a variety of ciders, as well as coordinating bites highlighting cider from the local Seedling farms.

Beyond being our wonderful supporters, Green Grocer takes an active role in stimulating the local economy by predominantly supporting Midwestern local farms and producers.  They are quite conveniently located at the corner of Grand Ave. and Noble Ave. in West Town, and have their own produce share that a combines the produce of several farms.

Details for Industry Night are as follows:

Tuesday, September 29, 2015
Doors Open 8p, Music begins 9p

Although there is not a formal admission price, we have an interactive Popular Vote at the end of the evening.  This is where we utilize a "pay what you can" system to vote for your favorite musical "tasting" of the evening.  The winning selection is performed at the next Industry Night.  Our audience has generally contributed $5-$25 for this vote.

If you are interested in joining us for this Fall-tastic event, EMAIL us at bowandhammer@gmail.com, and we will send you the address to our rehearsal space!

Hope to see you all there!

With love,
b&h
